Hi! I’m Kate – a wife, mom, manager, volunteer education advocate and lover of all things creative. I’m a transplant to Atlanta, originally from Boston, hoping to have a little house in both someday. I started Managed By Mom to have a place to put all the recipes I’ve developed over the years, that my kids love, so they can make them on their own now that they are away at college. (I miss you guys!!) I figured I’d also start writing about places we’ve been, and products that I think are great. With any luck it will save my kids, and anyone that reads my blog, some time and money;)
I’ve been a mom for 22 years now and can honestly say it’s been the most exciting, wonderful, challenging, frustrating, humbling, rewarding job I’ve ever had! If you’re a new mom and are reading this, know that the early years are exhausting for all of us. It get’s easier. Sometimes. And harder. Sometimes. And while there will be days you pray for patience (or the ability to just keep your eyes open and all the balls in the air) there will be many more filled with happiness and love beyond comprehension, and it will all go by too fast.
This blog is my way to focus on the positive, share creative ideas, and celebrate the journey.
